Oklahoma City - since 1964

Your motor comes back better than it left.

Capitol Electric has rewound, rebuilt and machined electric motors on SW 11th Street for sixty years. Fractional to 1000 HP, AC and DC, in our bay or on your plant floor.

The range

One shop, from a bench motor to a thousand horsepower.

Most shops pick an end of the scale. We have run the whole of it since 1964, which is why the same phone number answers for a sump pump and for the stator on the crane.

  1. Fractional

    Bench work

Small AC motors, coils and armatures. The everyday rewinds that keep a line moving.

  2. NEMA frame

    Shelf stock

Stocking distributor. New motors on our own racks, with manufacturer warehouses behind us 24/7.

  3. 1000 HP

    Crane work

Large stators come off the trailer, onto the five ton crane and open on the floor.

This is the shop as it actually stands on SW 11th Street. Three things in this frame explain why plants across Oklahoma send motors here.

What we repair

Eight things we do, and the machines we do them to.

Motors, drives, gearboxes, pumps, machining and controls. All of it in the shop, most of it available at your site.

On-site repairs

We do not always wait for the motor to arrive.

On-site repairs are in the strapline over the door because they are in the work. We rewind and repair at your plant, run dynamic balancing and vibration analysis at your job site, and we do it on a 24-hour basis when a line is down.

In their words

Maintenance managers, farmers and shop owners.

Ron and Team were fantastic! Capitol Elec. was able to take on an emergency task and finish it overnight to keep our plant running. They were courteous and managed numerous phone calls from different parties as we resolved a serious matter. They offered to visit the site and did a pick up and retrieval saving more time. Thank you guys.

They helped me with all the questions I had and told me to call if I had any problems with hooking up the vfd I purchased. I'm trying to run a 3 phase motor in single phase electricity and knew nothing about it till I ran into a brick wall with problem after problem after problem!! Thankyou Capitol Electric.

Common questions

What people ring us to ask.

We handle AC motors from fractional horsepower up to 1000 HP, mostly NEMA frame. Larger stators come in on the crane and go out on a pallet. We rewind AC and DC motors, coils, armatures and generators.

Both. On-site repairs have been part of what we do since 1964. We carry out rewinds and repairs at your plant, and we run dynamic balancing and vibration analysis either in our facility or at your job site.

Yes. The counter is open Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and we offer 24-hour service for emergency work, either at our shop or at your job site.

When you place a rebuild with us you get a motor or generator that is equal to or better than the original equipment. We use the latest equipment, practices and materials available for electro-mechanical rotating equipment service.

We are stocking distributors for the products we promote and keep a range of new stock in our own inventory. We also have access to our manufacturers' warehouses across the country, so inventory is available to us and to our customers 24/7.

We weld, metalize and machine shafts, end bells and bearing housings, and cut new keyways. Complete new shafts are machined from like alloys, and we use a vertical press to remove and replace a shaft when that costs less than repairing it.
