Balanced before it ever goes back together
An unbalanced rotor is one of the quietest ways a rebuild goes wrong. It does not stop the motor from turning, it just shortens the life of everything around it: the bearings wear faster, seals work loose sooner, and the vibration travels into whatever the motor is driving. We own our own dynamic balancing equipment for exactly this reason, so we can check every rotating element and correct it before the unit is assembled, rather than finding out about a problem after it has already shipped back to a customer's plant.
Where the work happens
Dynamic balancing and vibration analysis are done in our facility as a normal part of a rebuild, and they are also offered at your job site. If a motor, fan, or piece of driven equipment is showing vibration where it sits, we can bring the work to it instead of pulling it off the line and shipping it in. It is one of several machine shop capabilities we run alongside laser alignment, mechanical modifications, and shaft work, all aimed at the same thing: rotating equipment that runs true when it goes back into service.

Why balance is a bearing-life problem, not a vibration problem
Vibration is the symptom you can feel through a machine base or hear over the noise of a shop floor. The cost is what it does over time: an out-of-balance rotor puts a repeating load on the bearings with every revolution, and that load is what wears a bearing out early and drives unplanned downtime later. Catching it at rebuild, before the unit is reassembled, is cheaper and less disruptive than catching it after the motor is back in service and something else has already started to wear because of it.
That is also why we do not treat balancing as a bolt-on extra. It is run as part of every rebuild that passes through our shop, on AC and DC motors, coils, armatures, and generators alike, and it is available on its own if a piece of equipment already in service is running rough and a customer wants it checked before it fails outright.
