Capitol Electric has repaired motors, drives, gearboxes, pumps and controls out of the same bay on SW 11th Street since 1964. Some jobs stay in the shop, some go out on the truck. Everything below is work we actually do, in our own building or on your site.

Motor repair and rewinds
AC and DC motors, coils, armatures and generators, rewound and rebuilt to come back equal to or better than the original equipment. Fractional horsepower to 1000 HP, mostly NEMA frame, with manufacturer warehouse stock behind us when a rebuild is not the answer.

Balancing and vibration analysis
Our own dynamic balancing equipment, so every rotating element is checked before a rebuilt unit goes back together. Done in our facility or at your job site, alongside laser alignment.

Rewinds, repairs, balancing and vibration analysis carried out at your plant, not just at the counter. On-site work has been part of the job here since 1964, and we run it on a 24-hour basis when a line is down.

Speed control and the automation behind it.
- Variable frequency drivesWe sell, install, program and service AC drives for building automation, industrial, pumping, agricultural, irrigation, and water or wastewater applications. Soft starting cuts wear on motors, sheaves, belts and couplings, and demand charges drop with it.Three-phase speed control, start to commissioning.

The mechanical half of the work. Because it happens under the same roof as the winding, a gearbox does not sit waiting on a second shop while the motor is rebuilt.
